Back in those years, being open about political views was dangerous, and after she was accused of having ties to Communism, her career was over instantly. In 1949, Parker received a 1,000-word letter, acknowledging her blacklisting for reasons tied to suspicion.

Hedren began her career as a fashion model. One day, Alfred Hitchcock cast her for one movie, then the Birds being first, and Marnie the second one. Surprisingly, Hitchcock made numerous sexual advances on Hedren, which were never reciprocated.
Apparently, Hitchcock was furious about Hedren continually turning him down. He was so angry that he promised her that she would never work in Hollywood ever again. As promised, he froze her contract for two years until he eventually sold it. Many years later, she returned to an acting career, but this event soured her idea of Hollywood, so she ultimately dropped acting and started a campaign for animal rights.

Cee-Lo Green became an overnight sensation when he released the pop hit “F*** You.” This single hit landed him some serious appreciation and accolades that he was even given his own show.

She even tweeted something incredibly racist about Barrack Obama’s former Senior Advisor, pushing ABC to cancel her reunion season of Roseanne. This single move pushed her to the blacklist.
15. Isaiah Washington
Isaiah Washington had one of the leading roles on Grey’s Anatomy until he said something wrong. Once, on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, he referred to his homosexual coworker using a slur, which got him suspended from the set.
Grey’s Anatomy won a Golden Globe, and Washington made another mistake, identical, and he was fired entirely from the show, and out of business. Still, Washington seems to be changed, and maybe there is something other waiting for him.

Thora Birch was an ultimate child star. With each role, her popularity only went up. That is until her father and agent assaulted one of Burke’s co-stars on some secret motive.
Burke has fired after this incident shortly after. She did appear in a few other smaller roles since then, but she never reached her childhood fame again.

Locke made her first appearance in the 1960s. Soon afterward, she met and started dating a famous actor and director, later on, Clint Eastwood. The two worked on many projects and stayed together for 13 years.
They went through a messy breakup, and many believe that Clint used his connections and influence to end Locke’s career. She eventually started working again, but she was never in the same position as before.

Stacey Dash was one of the famous names during the 1990s and early 2000s. She had a promising career, and she eventually worked as a talk show host. In a short period, she went from a hopeful democratic position to a racist conservative opinion during Barrack Obama’s presidency.
She was openly racist and anti-progressive that she got fired from her job at Fox News. Today she used her social media as her platform, where she shares her anti-progressive thoughts. No one expects to see her on TV screen any time soon, or ever.

Rose McGowan was the first of many to shake Hollywood by coming forward about Harvey Weinstein’s acts. Weinstein has many celebrities in his pocket, and it seems that he blacklisted anyone who wouldn’t work with him on his terms.
Eventually, McGowan settled with Weinstein outside of court. However, this event didn’t keep McGowan from losing acting opportunities. McGowan has not been offered an important role since.

“Run the World” was deemed inappropriate by the Chinese government. Queen B is also banned from entering Malaysia due to not complying with their strict dress code guidelines for women.

Vanessa Williams can sing, dance, and act. She was also great at modeling. She was so great that she was the first African-American to be voted as Miss America in 1983 before she was stripped of her title.
Sometimes, when you do something in your youth in catches upon you later, Vanessa is an example. Some nude photos of her appeared, and she was stripped of her title and cast from the entertainment sphere. However, years later, Vanessa released a song that eventually pushed her career up as a singer and amazing actress. She was never returned to her rightful title of Miss America.
8. Martin Lawrence
Martin Lawrence rocked the Hollywood scene during the early 2000s. Could you imagine anyone else but him shoulder to shoulder to Will Smith in Bad Boys? No one can picture that, actually. They just fit. He was also regular on Saturday Night Live, where he delivered a questionable monologue.
He has, however, been perma-banned from Saturday Night Live for interrupting the show to preach about his perceived importance of feminine hygiene. Next to this, he tends to be a creep to women on set occasionally and jokingly homophobic from time to time. Again, he is a comedian, so maybe that’s the reason why he isn’t wholly blacklisted.

Natalie Maines has an opinion on various topics, and she isn’t afraid to speak about it. Moreover, she isn’t afraid to talk about it, even if it could negatively affect her career.
Famous artist openly spoke out against President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq. By many, this was seen as very unpatriotic. Luckily, this didn’t affect Dixie Chicks as a band.
6. Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg is a famous music star who started his career in the 1990s with a song that was featured on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single. When not recording music, he is seen in various movie projects, in front of a camera, or working as a voice actor.
However, he has never been blacklisted from acting, but he has been blacklisted out of a few countries for smoking a bunch of weed. His most recent ban came from Norway, where he tried to bring weed in through customs.
5. Charlie Sheen
According to many, Charlie Sheen is the ultimate bad boy of Hollywood. It’s known for decades that Sheen likes to party, but since it didn’t affect his personal life and career, no one talked about it as something negative. Plus, he had a notable role as Charlie on Two and a Half Men.
It seemed that his career reached its peak when an interview with Good Morning America occurred. Sheen unintentionally came forward about his instability, and it made him look deranged so much that he wasn’t invited back to continue Two and a Half men. However, after this, Sheen took another path, attending to his health since he is HIV positive. For years Charlie is nowhere to be seen on the big screen, but people still hope to see him as he gets better.

Bridges was one of the biggest stars of the 1950s. You might remember him from the movie Airplane, his first role after many years of forced break.
Bridge was blacklisted. He admitted to the HUAC that he had once been a group member found to have had links to the Communist party. Later on, he was cleared by the FBI.
3. Lee Grant
Lee Grant was ‘the’ actress in the 1940s and 1950s before she was put on a blacklist. The famous actress appeared in William Wyler’s Detective Story, co-starring Kirk Douglas and Eleanor Parker. This role earned her an Oscar nomination and the Best Actress Award at the 1952 Cannes Film Festival.
Many couldn’t believe that she was banned from working due to her performance and popularity. However, she was blacklisted from most acting jobs for the next 12 years. She was asked to testify against her husband to the HUAC, and both were taken off the list once their innocence was cleared.
2. Vanessa Marquez
Vanessa Marquez is best known for her role in the show ‘Er.’ The show was a huge success and forerunner to today’s medical drama shows. She blamed George Clooney for long to caused her blacklisting, which was proven untrue.
However, Marques suffered from serious mental health issues, including bipolar disorder and agoraphobia, which ended her career and left her almost entirely homebound. In 2018, Marquez was shot and killed by the police in her LA home.

Mira Sorvino has many hits behind her, but her most original role is the role in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite, which brought her the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.
For years she was A list actress only to disappear for a while. She is one of the few who talked openly on Weinstein. Luckily, she un-blacklisted shortly after her allegations were confirmed.
